Olachi Online

It will please some of you to know that I have long since debated what my first – official – blogpost should be about. I almost went ahead and delved right into the most pressing matter on my mind at the moment; the woes of navigating university and realizing what true friends look like. However, that screamed all types of cliché.

Seasoned bloggers worldwide are rejoicing knowing that I dodged that bullet.

It will please the rest of you to know that I sat on the idea for well over four months until I, thankfully, came to my senses and decided to take a road less traveled and discuss the girl behind the blog.

Me.

I like to think there’s more to me than just being a sophomore in college pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Sports Journalism. I’ll even go as far as to say there’s more to me than just being an overly enthusiastic Nigerian-American who resides in South Florida yet attends school up north.

That’s where this blog comes in.

All my life I have been chided for “always having something to say.” The only difference between then and now, I believe, is that now I have a passion to pursue my thoughts and a desire to foster a platform to do so.

Through Olachi Speaks, I hope to cultivate an all-encompassing outlet for me to share my adoration for beauty, fashion, lifestyle and any other ragtag idea that may pop into my head at a moment’s notice.

Somewhere amongst the evolving collection of posts, I also hope to inspire one or two individuals. Whether conscious or not, big or small, words have an impact.

Just like several blogs inspired me to start one of my own, I operate under the belief that I may be a source of inspiration to someone else in the world in the future.

That brings us to this post.

When I’m not here, in an endless debate with myself on what content I want to share next, you can find me spending time with my family, getting together with friends, buried beneath my comforter watching Netflix, emphatically chronicling LeBron James’ every move and browsing my favorite stores for the latest arrivals.

Without further ado, welcome to my blog!

I hope you stick around for what is quite possibly going to be my most eventful journey.
